The McRib is not a rib-bone sandwich. McDonald's' favorite was invented in a laboratory using innovative techniques, similar to those employed in the production of sausages. The resulting food product was initially similar in appearance to a pork chop, but McDonald's later insisted on shaping it like ribs.
